Seit 2014 entstehen immer mehr Sofortbilder von Landschaften und Naturdetails. Aktuelle Motive stammen u.a. vom Rhein bei Speyer, vom Botanischen Garten in Straßburg und von der Seenlandschaft Brandenburgs. Die technisch unperfekte Ästhetik des analogen Filmmaterials und der alten Polaroidkameras eröffnen mir einen poetischen Raum, der über das Dargestellte hinaus auf den Prozess des Sehens verweist. Diesen erweitere ich zuweilen durch den manuellen Abdruck vom eigenen Finger, von Pflanzenteilen oder von anderen Objekten auf dem Bild. Ich verwende für diese Aufnahmen den legendären Trennfilm FP-3000B von Fuji, der seit einigen Jahren leider nicht mehr produziert wird. Mit meinem Restbestand werde ich noch einige wenige Jahre weiterarbeiten können (Stand: 2017).
Parallel entstehen kurze Prosatexte zu den Bildern und über kurz oder lang ist ein Buchprojekt geplant.
Since 2014 I have been taking more and more instant images of landscapes and of details in nature. Currently, they come from the Rhine near Speyer, Germany, from the Botanical Garden of Strasbourg, France, and from the seascape in Brandenburg north of Berlin. The techincally imperfect aesthetics of instant film in combination with old polaroid cameras open up a poetic realm referring, beyond the represented scene, to the process of seeing. At times I expand this concept by manually pressing my finger, or parts of plants, or other objects onto the image surface. For all of these images I am using the legendary instant film Fuji FP-3000B, whose production was stopped a few years ago, unfortunately. I will be able to work with my remaining stock a few more years (state: 2017).
Alongside, I am writing short prose for some images, and sooner or later a book will be in the pipeline.
